Subconscious ideas can direct thinking

Over time, individuals' subconscious thoughts may become deeply ingrained and come to have a large influence over their conscious thoughts and actions. These can manifest themselves in negative habits and thought patterns. However, it may be possible for people to pull their minds out of this mental rut.

These are the conclusions of a new book by author and certified life coach Lauren Powers. She says that the mind tends to go on a sort of autopilot during the day. Many of the thoughts a person thinks could be classified as daydreaming, and habitualized subconscious thoughts often direct these patterns.

However, her book asserts that these negative thoughts can be overcome by becoming more aware of each thought that a person thinks. Identifying undesirable thoughts is the quickest way to eliminate them.

Ilchi Lee says that meditation is the best way for an individual to become aware of all of their inner thoughts and filter out negative ideas. It can help people clear their minds and focus on the present, while becoming more familiar with their own thoughts.
