Woman completes life dream of finishing school

There comes a time in one's life when they realize they were meant to do something. Whether it's at a young age or when they're an adult, this sudden surge can be intense. When people decide to pursue their life dream, this revelation could come at any given moment.

Kathy Vitzthum knew that she wanted to attain a bachelor's degree in accounting, but she had to juggle some other things first. Time Magazine reports that the 48-year-old took 19 years to complete her accounting degree from Iowa State University.

Vitzthum took one class per semester as she took care of her family and managed a career, but she wanted to fulfill a promise she made to her dying father that she would eventually finish.

United Press International reports although she's set to graduate from the school on May 7, Vitzthum is nervous about how she's spend her time now that she's completed her studies.

"I've been doing this so long, I don't think I'll know how not to do it. It almost gives me anxiety to not know what I'm doing this summer," Vitzthum told the source. "But it's a definite sense of accomplishment."
